Pickle Wel H
Pickle Wel H
PICKEL WEL FOAM HS INTRODUCTION : PICKEL FOAM HS is a liquid specially tailored to produce stable foam blanket in immersion type acid pickling baths. PICKELWEL FOAM HS considerably reduces the escape of acid fumes and steam from the surface of the bath. This helps to conserve heat, improve the working conditions in the pickle house and prevent the corrosion of neighbouring machines and other steel work near the pickle plant. PICKLEWEL FOAM HS can be used in both Hydrochloric acid and Sulphuric acid pickling bath. SPECIFICATION : Chemical Nomenclature : An alkylated aryl poly – ether Compound Appearance : Colourless liquid free from deposit Specific Gravity : 1.025 (+-) 0.005 at 25ºC Solubility : Miscible readily in hydrochloric and sulphuric acid baths. pH : 7 to 7.5 Flash Point : None Stability : Stable at temperatures for unlimited time. Up to 100ºC OPERATIONAL DETAILS : 1. Add ¼ to ½ liter of PUCKLEWEL FOAM HS per 1000 liters of pickling bath with agitation. 2. To maintain an effective foam blanket add PICKLEWEL HS from time to time. FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS : 1. The presence of oils, grease etc. and excessive dosage of inhibitor effects the foaming property of PICKLEWEL FOAM HS. This can be remedied by skimming off the oils, grease etc. and adding acid to compensate for the excess inhibitor or by increasing the temperature of the pickle bath. 2. If excess foam is observed in the bath, then it indicates poor inhibition or over pickling Add PICKLEWEL acid inhibitor to overcome this defect. CAUTION : 1. Use only in immersion – type pickling baths. 2. Do not use in baths containing oxidizing acids like Nitric and Chromic acid. PICKLEWELL-H INTRODUCTION PICKELWELL-H is an acid inhibitor specially designed for use in hydrochloric acid pickling of any type of steel regardless of acid concentration. PICKLEWELL-H saves more than 20 kgs. Of acid for every 100 sq. m. pickled and 12 kg. of steel for every tonne pickled. PICKLEWELL-H improves pickling, conserves heat, minimizes the tendency to rust after pickling, produces smooth surfaced pickled steel without any acid burns or blisters and saves considerable coating metal in subsequent operations like electroplating and galvanizing and provides sizeable saving in material and labour in painting, bonderising and other similar operations after pickling. SPECIFICATION Chemical nomenclature : A complex organic compound Apperance : Viscous liquid Specific Gravity : 1.4 (-) 0.005 at 25ºC Flash Point : None Solubility : Miscible with Hydrochloric acid Character : Acidic to litmus Stability : Stable at all temperatures for unlimited time.
